An altar is a home for your magic. altars are an externalized manifestation of your internal world, of your hopes, dreams and intentions.
Providing a dedicated space to enact your magic in the physical world shows the sprits that you are serious about cultivating your magic. They provide safe space for divination and enacting spells, and give your helpers in spirit a place to alight when they visit you.
There is so much visual inspiration in publications and online, showing aesthetic altar space— but a lot less out there about what an altar actually is, which an open portal to the spirit realm.
We will learn practical skills and the theory behind altar practice and you will be tasked, as homework, to set up your own!
As you deepen your relationship with your altar space and experience the joy of tending to an externalized representation of your inner magical world, you begin to appreciate nuances of witchcraft in a more visceral way. Profound gestures that you may previously enacted internally will have more affect and influence in your life.
